Description

Hey guys,

You may already know my OC Amelia Roberts (I've alread uploaded two drawings of her), but I've noticed that I haven't drawn Amelia wearing a jacket or a winter coat. So here I am with a drawing of my Detroit: Become Human OC during Snowfall (which I'll color tomorrow) :D
And to make it even better, I'll add her BIO to this drawing :)

I hope you guys like her :)

Edit [28. 06. 2018]: I'll eventually upload the possibilities of Amelia's death and how different everything will turn out if Connor stays a machine (in case you haven't noticed the main storyline will be that Connor becomes a Deviant, Markus' starts a peaceful demonstration and Kara stays alive alongside Alice and Luther). I have ideas for various outcomes from the beginning but I need to write everything down more detailed before I feel save to upload that as well. I'll probably make a new drawing for the other outcomes and put the link underneath). However, now have fun with the added plot :)

BIO

Name: Amelia Roberts

Occupation: junior detective under Hank Anderson (formerly)

Detective (currently)

alias: Rookie

Kiddo (by Hank Anderson)

Plastic Detective's friend (by Gavin Reed)

Detective Roberts (by Connor)

Height: 5.7ft (173cm)

Age: 29 (July 25)

Date of Birth: 2009

Date of Death: 2038 (determinant)

Quirks: She likes to juggle and can do so with up to 5 objects (mostly small balls she keeps at her desk or at home). Juggling helps her concentrating.

Personality:
Amelia is a young but courageous person, who's courage helps her to do what's right in tough situations. She is determined to help other people and it's her determination combined with her courage that help her keep going on, no matter what. Amelia is not particular about the letter of the law; as long as it hurts no one, she'll let it pass. The same goes for Self Defence: When Amelia convinced that someone had to act in order to defend himself, she'll let it slide or at least will try to help said person. It's something she learnt from her mentor, Hank and is one of the lessons the Lieutanent had made sure she would understand. Fitting to this, Amelia is shown to be rather patient as it can be seen when she repeatedly explains things to Connor or when she tries to explain to Hank Technical Devices.

However, while Amelia displays a rather kind and tolerant personality, she is the opposite of being neat: In the Police Department, her desk is very often a mess (various files lying around, mixed with other documents and paperwork) which leads to her sometimes not finding the right file to a case. She also has few notes inbetween the chaos.
Her trouble of being neat is also shown at her home; Without the help of Diana (an AX400 Android), who's responsible for housekeeping, she'd be lost in all the chaos at home. Amelia is aware of this and even admits this at some point during the Deviant Case. She knows that it can be tough to keep her house clean which is why she treats Diana with respect and let's her do as she pleases, as long as everything is finished at the end of the day.
She dislikes one colleaque in particular (namely Detective Gavin Reed), who mocks her for the chaos on her desk as well as her „need“ for an Android to keep her house clean. Fitting to this, Amelia defends Hanks from him, whenever Gavin insults or makes fun of him. This however, added to the fact that she quickly gets annoyed by certain persons from which she has a bad first impression (such as Detective Gavin Reed or FBI Agent Richard Perkins), sometimes leads to warnings from her Superior and even more mockering and insults. However, despite that, Amelia gets relatively well with most people from her office.

Due to an event in her past, Amelia sides herself with Androids and despises the aggressive and abusive behavior a lot of human show towards the Androids.

The more the story continues and the more she witnesses Markus' revolution and Connor's changes, the more she starts to think that the displayed feelings of the Androids are in fact real and not just fake. It even leads to Amelia allowing Diana to leave her and join Markus' revolution.

Appearance:

Amelia is a young, brownhaired woman with brown eyes. Some hair strands fall into her face, while the others are combed to the side. The hair on the back of her head reaches to her shoulder.

She is 5.7ft (173cm) tall and wears a white blouse under which she wears a white top underneath. The sleeves of her blouse are rolled up to her elbows. She wears long blue jeans equipped with a belt and another utility belt which is connected to her gun holster. The holster is attached to her leg by another belt around her right thigh. She also wears dark shoes.

When Amelia is outside to investigate a case, she wears an older winter coat with elongated buttons, a zipper and several pockets on the in- and outside of her coat. Her badge is usually inside one of the coat pockets, alongside her house and car keys.

Plot:

Partners [November 5, 2038; 11:21PM]

Amelia works on some reports and files when Connor arrives at the Police Department for the first time. He introduces himself to her and asks Amelia where Lt. Anderson is. She answers him that Hank's already gone and most likely can be found drinking in some bar. She writes down a few adresses where she things Hank could be and gives him the note. When Connor leaves, Amelia wishes him good luck with his search for her former mentor.

The Interrogation [November 6, 2038; 12:41AM]

Amelia is still in the office when Carlos Ortiz's Android is brought and interrogated. She witnesses from the sidelines the interrogation of the HK400 Android and the short confrontation with him, before he is put in a cell by Officer Miller. On the way to the cafeteria to get herself a coffee, she walks past an annoyed and angered Gavin Reed who swears and mutters something along the lines of „Fucking Androids“. She shortly wonders what her colleague is angry about before shaking her head and returning to her desk, so she can continue her work.

Waiting for Hank [November 6, 2038; 09:56AM ]

Due to working until late nights for the past few days, Amelia oversleeps and arrives in the Detroit Police Department around the same time as Connor. They greet each other and Amelia walks alongside him to the office, before making a little detour to the cafeteria. Getting herself a cup of coffee, Amelia greets her colleagues she passes by and apologises to Captain Jeffrey Fowler for her late arrival. As she walks to her desk, she is mockingly greeted by Detective Reed, who taunts her about her late arrival. Choosing to ignore him, Amelia instead turns on her computer and watches Connor, who looks at Hank's desk for information about the Lt.
Some time passes by and Connor asks her when Hank will come in. However, before Amelia can answer him, Hank arrives and is encountered by Captain Jeffrey Fowler, who calls him in his office. Connor apologizes himself and follows Hank inside.

While Hank and Connor are inside Fowler's office, Amelia files a police report about his AX400, who attacked him. She asks Todd several questions about the missing Android (such as his name and what had happened), who claims that Kara had assaulted him for no reason. Although Amelia has her doubts about Todd's story, she writes everything down and uploads his case to the Police server. Promising to keep him up-to-date as well as to search for the missing Android, she releases Todd and says him goodbye.
When he's gone, she begins working on the case and starts with some research about him, as well as the missing android. The first thing she notices is that said android had come back from repair just a few hours ago before she went missing.

After some more research, Amelia once again leaves her desk to get herself coffee, just in time to witness her colleauge Gavin Reed ordering Connor to make him some coffee. Connor refuses, saying that he only follows Hank Anderson's orders and almost gets punched by Gavin. However, Amelia intervenes, telling him to leave the Android alone.
Detective Reed, who's annoyed by the interference, tries to intimidate the younger Female by leaning forward, asking Amelia if “plastic ass [Connor] over there” is her new boyfriend. Unaffected by his behavior, Amelia simply asks if Gavin ever heard of “personal space”. Gavin, who's now even more annoyed, backs away and says toward Connor that if Hank hadn't been around during the interrogation, he would have damaged him badly for disobeying a human. Before walking away with Officer Chen, he shoves Amelia to the side, glaring at her.

After Gavin is gone, Amelia apologizes for his behavior and warns Connor about him, stating that Gavin dislikes androids and Hank. Connor thanks for Amelia's help while also stating that helping – although appreciated – wouldn't have been necessary. Amelia waves it off and makes two cups of coffee, before walking back to the office. Back there, she sets one cup on Hank's desk, greeting him with a smile, before returning to her own desk.

She later witnesses how Hank gets annoyed at Connor and slams him against his glass barrier at his desk, before being interrupted by officer Chris Miller.

Russian Roulette [November 6, 2038; around 07:30PM]
Later the same day, Amelia decides to call it a day and leaves the Police Station. She buys two bottles of beer and calls Diana and tells her that she'll make a stop at Hank's house to visit him. She finds him sitting in the kitchen with a photograph of his deceased son Cole before him. Noticing in which kind of mood Hank is, she carefully tries to begin a conversation with him. She tries to cheer him up with various topics (for example about thinking of buying tickes for the next game of Detroit's Basketball team and inviting him to watch the game with her). Unfortunately, her attempts fail and Hank's mood worsens. Sighing in defeat, Amelia gestures towards the photo and finally admits that she's worried about Hank. Stating that she doesn't want to lose him because of what happened to him in the past [losing his son Cole], she unwillingly angers Hank who snaps at her. Noticing that she worsened the situation, Amelia gives up and leaves Hank alone. Petting Sumo on her way out, she tells Hank that he can call her should he ever want to talk about what's haunting him.

At her own home, Amelia is asked by Diana how her visit went. She sighs and states that Hank's mental state once again had worsened. She also admits that she has no idea how to help him, since all attempts to talk with her former mentor fail.
Diana, who notices that her owner is even more stressed than usually, advices the young Female to take a bath in order to relax. Amelia thanks the android and does as Diana said.

The Eden Club [November 6, 2038; around 08:17PM] Amelia is called by Gavin, who informs her that the two of them are ordered to investigate a muder. When she asks him where the murder happened, Gavin tells her that she'll be glad to hear that they'll meet before the “Eden Club”, where more of her “android friends” work. Annoyed that she has to work with Gavin, Amelia ends the phone call and tells Diana that she has to investigate murder. She leaves her house and drives to the “Eden Club”. As soon as she arrives, Amelia asks Gavin what he'd found out so far. Gavin greets her, tauntingly asking if there's any android she'd like. Annoyed, Amelia tells him that she dislikes Sex-androids and their customers and once again asks him what he found out. After their short briefing (in which he jokes about what happened to the victim as well as the androids working there), Amelia decides to investigate the room in which the victim was murdered. She soon notices that something is off and that the deactivated android hardly killed the victim. Upon leaving the room, Amelia notices that Hank and Connor arrived, and greets both of them with a nod. She gives them a short briefing about what they've found out so far. Although the case went to Connor and Hank due to the involvement of an android, Amelia decides to stay and observe Connor. Being curious about him and his abilities, she follows him back to the Crime Scene and watches him investigating the victim and the android before repairing and approaching the android. Seeing her own assumption approved, Amelia leaves the Crime Scene with Connor and follows Hanks orders to not let any android move away. While Hank and Connor follow the Deviant android by searching android Eyewitnesses, Amelia scolds the owner of the Eden Club for trying to let customers enter. However, as soon as she hears fighting sounds from the Warehouse, she runs and tries to help Hank fight off one of the Deviants. During the fight, Amelia is pushed away by the Deviant and later follows Connor outside alongside Hank, where she listens to the two Tracie's story. She watches their escape, agreeing with Hank that it probably was for the best. Before leaving the Eden Club, Amelia accepts Hanks apology, stating that she understand that the current situation isn't the easiest for him. Afterwards, Amelia calls Michael Graham's wife and informs her that her husband is death. During their conversation, she sees herself confronted with Mrs. Graham's grief, sorrow and her questions about how the murder could have happened.

Trivia:

    • Some years before the story takes place, Amelia had shared most people views about Androids. However, her opinion changed after an event in which an Android had saved her life.

    • Amelia's allergic to feathers.

    • She sometimes lacks of concentration triggered by her lack of sleep, stress and malnutrition through her vegetarian diet. To deal with her lack of concentration, she began juggling. Whenever she feels like she can't concentrate on something, she takes her juggling balls and begins juggling.

    • During the investigation in the Eden Club for the case of Michael Graham, Amelia displays her dislike of Sex-Androids. She thinks that since those Androids memories gets wiped out every two hours, the customers do whatever they want with the Androids, even going so far as hurting or killing them.

    • She still has some clothes of her ex-boyfriend laying in her cupboard which she gives to Connor for his infiltration, saying that her boyfriend doesn't miss them or he already would have come to get them back.
